Let’s Talk Money: Starting the Conversations That Matter

This Talk Money Week, Citizens Advice Lancashire West is encouraging everyone to open up about money — because honest conversations can build confidence, prevent problems, and change lives.

We’re supporting Talk Money Week, which aims to make it easier for people to share their thoughts and feelings about money.

It can be difficult to start the conversation about money. People can feel embarrassed or uncomfortable talking about financial matters and saying nothing feels the easiest way to avoid any upset. However, all too often, silence leads to bigger problems at a later stage.

That’s why #TalkMoneyWeek is a great opportunity to kickstart a conversation with friends, family, colleagues and services like Citizens Advice Lancashire West.

The MoneyHelper website has published some very useful guides on how to begin those difficult conversations with family and friends.

Everyone has money worries at some point — debt, budgeting, job loss, or just confusion and needs some specialist advice on addressing problems. You are not alone and you certainly will not be the first to experience such problems. We are here to help.

Citizens Advice Lancashire West offers free, confidential support on issues like benefits, debt, and housing, helping you online, by phone, or in person.

Having conversations about money in our everyday lives can help us build the financial confidence and resilience needed to face whatever the future has in store for us.
